BIO
Miles Regis is a Trinidadian born artist whose work taps into the emotions of the exotic cultures of the world and presents them in a proud and authoritative manner. With a style reminiscent of master painters such as Basquiat, Pollock, Gauguin, Dali, and Rivera, Miles’ imagination is saturated with notions, ideas, and images, reflective of a world filled with conflicting interests. His work has appeared in association with CNN, NextAid World’s Day, CCH Pounder (AVATAR, THE SHIELD, Nicolette Sheridan (DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES), American Rag Cie, Senegal’s La Musee Borindar, Isaiah Washington (GREY’S ANATOMY) and several art communities around the country and throughout the world. He is currently exhibiting works alongside Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Gary Baseman and other artists as a part of Manifest Equality, a highly touted gallery curated by Yosi Sargent, former NEA representative and head of the west coast publicity team behind Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. During the event, Miles backstage exhibit allowed him to share the spotlight with individuals like Marissa Tomei, Daryl Hannah, Heather Graham and others. On March 5th, Miles took break from his show to join Flavia Colgan and friends for ICON. His piece, entitled “Art is Light” celebrates the light and purpose found in each and every one of us.

GELA Goes On The Road With Robin Thicke

img_00591In the summer of 2008, Genius Effect LA was selected to accompany multi-platinum recording artist, Robin Thicke on most of his promotional tour for the release of his latest album, entitled “Something Else.”

While shooting, we were able to capture a relaxed and personable Robin Thicke, never-before-seen footage, exclusive performances, band/crew comradery, raw interviews, and a real feel for what the artist experiences on a day-to-day basis. Most of the footage was used for international on-line promotion via the record label, Interscope.

About Ginger McGann:
A former women’s fashion designer and art teacher, Ginger McGann brings a unique and diverse range of talents to every endeavor. Prior to starting her own design firm she held the position of lead fashion designer at major internationally-based companies, two of included a Chorus Line and Organically Grown. She designed out of major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Hong Kong, London, Paris, and Milan. Notably, she was nominated three years in a row for the Tommy Award, the highest level of recognition a fashion designer could receive in the United States. After graduating from university and up until starting a family, she was a high school art and art history teacher. While teaching, she was prolific in making her own works of art, which she displayed in galleries throughout Los Angeles, New York, and London. Her main skill has always been in painting but she also has experience working in the fields of sculpture, pottery, glass composition, and jewelry making.

Of recent, painting and jewelry design has re-emerged as two of Ginger McGann’s key passions. She continues to operate GMDI, an international architecture firm, carrying out projects for her most important clients, but her focus has shifted to creating a grouping of artworks in order to be shown in galleries on both coasts, given exposure in lifestyle magazines, and promoted on an international scale. The style of painting that Ginger McGann is most passionate about is a new style that incorporates transparent layers of lush colors in non-objective/abstract themes. Her jewelry designs can be described as totally unique compositions of stones emulating her paintings: rubies, emeralds, sapphires, fire opals, imperial jade, peridots, and amethysts.
